SpongeBob SquarePants

"Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?" That's right, today I want to talk about SpongeBob SquarePants. Why? I really don't know. I guess it's because I did a puzzle of SpongeBob with all the other folks in Bikini Bottom. Plus, tonight, and this whole weekend, it's the SpongeBob SquarePants marathon. There will be new episodes, the top ten (as picked by viewers) favorite episodes, and even the movie. Why do I care about this? Well, I like SpongeBob. This show is, in my opinion, one of the best cartoons that has ever been made. It's a classic. It's fun for children, but there is adult humor in it as well. It's clean entertainment, and it's downright funny. If you've never seen the show, then you should watch it. Yes, it might seem stupid at times, but it's clean humor for the whole family to enjoy.
The neat thing about the show is all the different characters. To name some, we have: SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, Squidward Tentacles, Sandy Cheeks, Mr. Krabbs, Pearl, Larry the Lobster, Plankton, Mrs. Puff, Mermaid Man, Barnacle Boy and many other characters portrayed as fish. After all, it can't be under the sea without fish.

Not only are the characters, with their personalities, fun, but the episodes and ideas behind them are quite funny. From surviving winter in a tree-dome to defeating E.V.I.L., from building sand castles to making Krabby Patties, these episodes are sure to be fun. You will sing along, laugh out loud and enjoy every minute of this show.

In conclusion, I love SpongeBob SquarePants! If you're not sure, you should watch the show and see for yourself. It's on Nickelodeon.

Jokes

Does this picture make you laugh? It made me give a chuckle. After all, I love a good joke. There's nothing better than sitting down with your family or friends and telling joke after joke until you're all red in the face. If laughter is the best medicine, then jokes are the miracle vaccination. When you hear a funny joke, either downright funny or humorously clever, it makes you feel better as you laugh and giggle about it. After all, if we, as mankind, laughed a little more each day, then the world would be a little happier.

There are all kinds of jokes. There are silly stories, clever riddles, short answers or scenarios, humorous anecdotes, funny one-liners and many more. There are knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, crazy lists and many, many more. Some jokes are so great that everyone laughs and laughs. Others are merely clever and demand a good chuckle. Of course, there are some jokes that seem to be said so many times or are not very good that we don't give them the time of day. With this said, however, I believe that there are types of jokes out there for every individual in all walks of life.

Myself? I don't like crude jokes. Any joke that involves sexuality in any form is, to me, downright horrible. I do, however, like funny stories. An intelligent story with a hysterical ending can, and will, give me a laugh for the ages. I also love funny pictures (like the one above) and short jokes that get straight to the punchline. To be honest, I pretty much like any joke so long as it is clean and appropriate.

Yes, there is nothing better than a group of people chatting and laughing at jokes. If you have any good, clean jokes, then let me know. I'm all ears.

P.S. " A clean tie attracts the soup of the day."

Tanks

I want to talk about tanks. Why? I really don't know. They're cool, powerful and scary all at once. I would never want to go up against one as I've seen shows/documentaries about them. True, I've never seen one in real life (fighting that is), but I don't think it matters. Anyone with a mind knows that they're evil. Of course, the only think more evil than a giant, vehicle-crushing tank is a tank-destroying, swift Apache Helicopter. I don't love violence or death, but I marvel at these man-made creations. The power and ingenuity that goes into these beasts are truly something else. Again, I'm not some maniac obsessed with death and war. I just like tanks and other military vehicles. Ever since I was young, I've played with my army micro-machines. Not only that, I'm a guy. I like blowing things up. I love power. Would I want to have one of these mammoths on my tail? No!!! But still, they are very interesting things. I believe in freedom, of all people. If we, as a country, need to use some of these leviathans to keep peace and liberate the captive, then by all means I'll support the cause. Yet, let me again state that I don't like war!! I don't like death!!

Why did I blog about tanks and army vehicles? I think they're cool. That's all there is to it.

Sports

Sports. I love sports. In fact, I think all guys like sports. Maybe you don't like every sport, but you've got to like at least one. After all, there're many to choose from: Football, Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Volleyball, Hockey, Tennis, Golf, Racing (NASCAR, Boating, etc.), Ping pong, Wrestling, whatever. There are many more. Yet, no matter the sport, I love the things they all have in common. I love the athleticism and the competitiveness. Now, with that said and done, I like some sports more than others. Because to me, some events are just more entertaining than others. In other words, I like watching some sports more than others. We all have our favorites. Some sports are to play as well. I guess it just depends on what tickles your fancy.

For example: I love football! It is my favorite sport. While medical reasons prevent me from playing it, I still enjoy football season. Sitting down and watching the NFL or College Football is so much fun for me. I have teams I like and teams I don't. Professionally, I like the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Indianapolis Cults along with several other teams. I don't like the Patriots, Cowboys or Packers. As for college, I am a huge fan of BYU. Going to the games back when LaVell Edwards was the coach was a lot of fun. Every season, my dad and I get tickets to go watch them play. Yet, they're not the only team I enjoy. I also like Air Force (except for when we're playing them). I don't really get into the "Big Conferences." I don't mind watching them, but I don't care either. Because I'm a BYU fan, I don't like Utah. We're rivals.

My second favorite sport is Basketball followed by Soccer. In basketball, again I like college hoops. My sister, Janae, played college ball, and I enjoyed going to her games. You has skill. She now is the head coach for Cottonwood High School. I like the Jazz, however only if they're playing well. Darren Williams is fun to watch. It was fun seeing him along with our nation's best in the Olympic Games in Beijing. I'm glad we took the gold. Outside the Olympics I'm not a fan of Kobe Bryant or LeBron James. Still, I love basketball. Soccer, on the other hand, is something I've just gotten into. I'm no expert at teams and who's who, but I love watching it. It's especially fun when it's another country who is big on soccer (football).

Well, that's what I wanted to say for today. I love sports! They're fun to watch and play. With that said and done, take care.

Trains

Today, I want to talk about trains. Why? Because last night I watched "Extreme Trains." The host made the comment that ever since he was young, he loved trains. The episode was about the BNSF freight train delivering consumer goods from California to Texas. This giant train traveled under L.A. in a trench, up one of the steepest inclines and thru the Mojave Desert. As I watched this show, I could feel my youth being rekindled. You see, I love trains too! In fact, like the host, I've loved trains ever since I was young. I love watching them as we travel. I love the different designs and patterns as well as the different types of trains: double stacked freight, passengers, industrial freight and so on.

The picture above is a Utah Railway locomotive. As I live in Utah, I see these trains as I travel on the freeway heading north to Salt Lake City. I'm hypnotized by the train-yards and all the cars in them.

When it comes to trains, I love them so much that I would do anything to see them. In the past, I would go with my family to a parking lot or a field near the tracks and wait for the train. We would talk and walk around or listen to music while we waited and watched. Then, that glorious sound was heard, and we all ran to see the oncoming train approach. As it went by, the force of the train would rumble and pulse through my body. I became excited and enthrilled. Adrenalin would rush through me as the locomotive thundered on by. Then, before long, it ended. The train passed.

I own train sets and train videos. I watch trains, I have pictures of trains and I've ridden on them. I am an ultimate train fan. If you're a fan of trains like me, then let me know. Until then...

Dr. Mario

Last night, after my family set up a fence for our garden and read an article from the New Era, we had some fun playing Dr. Mario. I enjoy this game and personally think that it's one of the classics. Today's youth only want the shoot-em-up violent games. Well, I've been a fan of this game ever since I first played it years ago at my cousins' house. Now, I own three different versions of this game. And guess what? It never gets old.

Last night, we played on teams. After I cleared five viruses I gave the controller to my dad. Then, he gave it to me after he cleared five, and so on until either we won or my mom and brother won. While playing, I made the comment that this game is merely a game of options. Every piece presents different options on where to play it. The skill part of the game is being able to think of your options before your pill gets placed all the while your opponent is dumping garbage on you.

Some people may say that this is an easy game that isn't worth the time to play. They might say that it is so easy/simple that it's pointless. Well, I say that it's so easy/simple and yet it's so addicting. I know that I can easily spend hours playing it by myself. Add some of the family, and this becomes an all out 'Hirschi Family Tournament.'

All in all, this game rocks; so the next time you see or hear about it you should play it and see for yourself, and if you don't, then you're missing out.

Food

I want to write a little about food. I love it! I really love the unhealthy stuff. Who doesn't? It's not that I can't eat salads or vegetables. The main fact of the matter is that I love food like hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, pizza, tacos, chicken and potatoes, fish, sandwiches (like hogies), and anything that goes well with ketchup. Again, I'm all for variety, but sometimes I like to get the goods. Can you blame me?

Then again, I like certain healthy foods. While most people would laugh if I told them that I was eating healthier, I might say that it is indeed true. I'm learning to like more foods and eat things I normally wouldn't eat. I've even started to crave some of these foods. So, despite what others say, I'm actually doing much better.

Foods I don't like? Onions (though I'm getting better with them), I'm still so-so with tomatoes, squash, certain berries (again, I'm doing better), steak (I'm not a fanatic) and certain whole wheat breads/pastas. I know their healthier, but sometimes you need the right stuff. There are other foods that I don't like (mushrooms), but I didn't list them all. For now, I am done.

I'll leave this entry with this: Eat healthy, excersize, die anyway. No, I don't believe this, but sometimes I feel like being a health freak is crazy. I'll eat healthier and try harder, but when the urge comes to chow down on my favorites, then I can't let that urge go unfulfilled.

My Feet

Today, I'm just going to write about my feet and the fact that they hurt. I've on them a lot the past two weeks. At a family reunion in Idaho and on Trek in Utah/Wyomming, I was on my feet all day. Now that everything's over, my feet are throbbing. It hurts to sit, stand, walk or lay. They just hurt.

4th of July

Happy 4th of July! Today, as we celebrate our nation's independence, may we take time to think about and honor those who gave their lives for our freedom. As Thomas Jefferson stated, everyone deserved the rights to 'Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.' Now, on this day, I ask that you, the reader, remember what great sacrifices were made to give us what we have today. I also want you to thank your Heavenly Father. For America is the Promised Land spoken about in ancient scripture. This land, our land, was set up and established by the hand of our Lord thru good and just men. How grateful I am to live in a country where I am free to live life to my fullest. Yet, there are many in our country who are trying to take our liberties away. They want to change and destroy our Constitution to make 'A Better Nation.' Don't let our government take away what the Lord has set up. Despite your political background (Democrat or Republican), let us all put our minds at work to preserve what we have and keep the Constitution holding strong. Remember on this day that our Heavenly Father has, in His wisdom, set His work in preparing a Choice Land, insomuch that the people who inhabit it will keep His commandments. Now, this great nation is falling. We must stand up for liberty. We must all work hard. Do not expect to be guided along the easy path of laziness. We must work to rebuild what our founding fathers constructed. Let us all keep our morals at heart. Let us remember what we believe. Our founding fathers established this nation with their trust in God. Please, let's keep this nation, America, from falling to a greater evil. Let us keep our faith in God to withstand the evils of the world. Let us fight against immoral practices, repel unorthodox beliefs and stand against the ungodly. Our nation, as well as the world, is changing. Good is now conceived as evil and evil for good. Don't quake before the evils of humanity. We will stand together to improve and restore the fundamental beliefs and practices that our nation was built upon. Together, on this 4th of July: our Independence Day, let us remember and stand up, let us battle to keep our constitution holy and just. Have faith in God and never back down. We can build a better nation. Don't let our government take away what we believe in. Remember, lest we forget and perish.

Annoying!

I think that I'll start off by listing some things that really annoy me.

-People chewing with their mouths open, snapping, slurping, when someone asks you to do something and then gets mad you for not doing it when you're clearly doing it, ditsy teen-agers, being told you're acting a certain way when you're not, stupid commercials, how my brother knocks on my door, politics, television shows about having sex or that have sexual language and other bad things (and there are tons of them!), dogs barking, when people dress like sluts, gangsters or whores, WHEN WE RUN OUT OF KETCHUP, the University of Utah (the students, the logos, the athletes, the teams, EVERYTHING), people who should be acting mature but aren't, people who speed, babies crying (I love them-just not their crying), people who break the law, court shows, country music, how everyone 'NEEDS' their cell phone, being late to events, unpatriotic Americans, and hypocrits.

There are many other things that annoy me, bother me and/or make me mad, but I didn't want to spend time writing everything.
